Sharing My Other Passion: Makeup Artistry

I’ve been keeping a bit of a secret. Not because I’m ashamed or anything like that but because I’m very passionate about it which makes me protective over it….and also a little insecure if I’m being honest.

For the past 2 years I’ve been doing makeup and I absolutely love it! I’ve always enjoyed doing makeup…as an only child it was an activity I could do by myself for entertainment and the joy of it stuck with me into adulthood.

I started to do more research on technique when I was cast in the reality show House of Curves about 2.5 years ago. I certainly couldn’t afford a makeup artist to do my face every time we filmed so I took to YouTube.

About 6 months after I really started practicing, my dear friend and makeup artist extraordinaire Scoobie West recruited me to work as a makeup artist mostly for weddings. Although super excited and eager to learn, I still never really felt like: “I’m becoming a makeup artist”. And I’m still not really comfortable calling myself an actual “makeup artist”.

What I do know is that I’m really passionate about doing makeup, particularly for weddings. You’re a part of this super special occasion and you’re responsible for bringing out the beauty in people. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon?

Here’s just a couple of pics of my work and a link to my new Style Seat for bookings. I’m working on being more diligent about Before and Afters. I’m going for it! *squeals*
